At Briarfields we are committed to providing accessibility to all our guests.

PRE-ARRIVAL
Bookings can be made by telephone, in writing, fax, e-mail or text phone. The nearest train station King’s Lynn where there is a taxi rank and links to bus services taking you to Hunstanton and some directly to us in Titchwell by the Norfolk green coast hopper.

ARRIVAL & CAR PARKING FACILITIES
The buildings are clearly marked from the road with appropriate signage. Once you enter the car park, there is a disabled drop off point on brick weave paving to the left near the main entrance and 3 designated disabled spaces on the gravel car park. There is additional parking for approximately 50 cars.

If you require porterage assistance from the car please check-in at reception where someone will be delighted to help you. The route from the car park to the entrance is on a gravel path that leads on to a flat brick weave surface before the main door.

Should you arrive in the dark, the car park is very well lit all through the evening. The signage from the road is also lit at night.

MAIN ENTRANCE & RECEPTION
The main entrance doors are open at 7:30am and close at approximately 11pm. If you are arriving outside of these times, you must inform reception in advance so access can be arranged for you.

The entrance has a 1-metre ramp with a small gradient that leads through to the lounge and reception.

There is a large seating area with sofas, tub chairs and armchairs in the entrance area and conservatory lounge on the way to reception.

BEDROOMS
We have 14 ground floor bedrooms, situated outside of the main building in the courtyard, 4 first floor rooms in the main building and 4 first floor rooms in the courtyard, these are only accessible by stairs as there is no lift. All our rooms have a direct dial telephone, tea/coffee making facilities, hair dryers, WiFi access, and either a TV/ video combi or TV/DVD combi. They all also have radio alarm clocks.

All ground floor rooms are accessed by a brick weave footpath through the courtyard. The courtyard is well lit. All rooms are en-suite mostly with showers above the baths, although some rooms have separate shower cubicle’s.

  • Room 1 A Four poster Bedroom
  • Rooms 2, 3 and 4 Twin or King Size Double rooms
  • Rooms 5 and 6 Double bedded rooms
  • Rooms 1 to 6 also have French Doors with access to the car park on a brick weave path.
  • Rooms 7 and 8 Twin bedded rooms
  • Room 9 A Family room with a King Size bed and bunk beds in a small separate room. There is also a sofa bed if required. The bathroom is spacious.
  • Room 12 Our designated Disabled Room. The access into this room is through a set of patio doors, so when both are open there is ample width for wheelchairs. The ramp leading up to the room is built into the concrete pathway. The bedroom has a hard wood floor. This room can be a twin bedded room, or a King Size Double bed. The spacious bathroom has a wet-room with a shower stool, grab rails beside the toilet, pull-cord alarm and the temperature of the water has been slightly reduced.

  • Room 17 A Twin or King size Double room, with spacious bathroom and raised walk in shower.

PUBLIC AREAS
The public areas are all on ground floor level. There is a staircase in the main reception area that leads to four bedrooms. The staircase has 8 steps then turns to the right with 6 further steps. The flooring in the public areas is wooden and slate tiles.

There is a public telephone in the reception area. A chair can be placed next to the phone if required.

There are men’s, ladies and disabled toilets located near the reception desk. The disabled toilet can comfortably accommodate a wheelchair with room to manoeuvre and has support rails. The baby changing facility is also located in the disabled toilet. There are additional ladies and men’s toilets in the restaurant.

RESTAURANT
The restaurant approximately 150 covers, with all tables being able to be moved to accommodate the required needs. The tables are well spaced to allow privacy while dining. The restaurant has strip lights, which are hidden, and these can be dimmed. There are also candles used during dinner service. It has a wooden floor with flat entrances. We have background music playing during service in the restaurant and all day in the main bar and lounge. There are men’s and ladies toilet at one side of the restaurant. The restaurant was built in 2005 and has similar décor to the rest of the hotel.

There is an entrance from the bar to the restaurant with wide double doors; all entrances are wide enough for wheelchairs. There is a fire exit directly opposite this entrance, also another on the left hand side through the toilets.

The tables are not covered with table clothes, but they are of a high standard, and are laid with cutlery, side plate, napkin, wine glass, condiments and real orchid table arrangement.

Our Table D’Hote menu is changed on a daily basis and the Ala Carte is change every month to ensure the best seasonal ingredients are used and all desserts are homemade. We can cater for anyone with allergies and dietary requirement and employees are always willing to help with the menu.

We also have a snug, which is a small room with about 6/7 tables and an open fire during winter, along with the bar, and lounges, which are often used for lunch and snacks.

GROUNDS & GARDENS
The decking, which is on the front of the restaurant, has 8 tables and has approximately 30 covers and has great views of the sea, also we have picnic tables on the lawn. The decking can be slippery when damp, so extra care must be taken during wet and frosty weather.

Our garden at the front of the hotel has a childrens play area (Children Must be accompanied by an adult) and other garden games. The play area is accessed from the front door of the hotel and you have to walk across the lawn. It consists of four swings and a tower with childrens seating underneath. This has a 1ft high wooden guard to keep the wood chip in.

Our courtyard has brick weave paths with access to all the rooms. There are 2/3 tables for which to have lunch in the summer or just to sit and relax. It also has a pond, which is approximately 10ft in diameter, 2ft deep and surrounded by a gravel path. In the evening the courtyard is lit up.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
All our rooms have a fire evacuation plan. These are all on show and show the assembly point.

Dogs are welcome in some of the bedrooms, but are not allowed in any of the public areas of the Hotel. Please make sure you clear up after your dog, and you are welcome to ask for a ‘dog’ blanket should you require one. You are welcome to walk your dog on our adjacent field near the staff car park. Some mobile phone networks may work, but the signal in this area is not the best, if not then there is a payphone in the reception.

We have Wireless Internet supply throughout the hotel including all the hotel bedrooms, however, you will need a password to log on to the service. If you have forgotten your laptop there is a computer with Internet access located near the reception desk for residents to use any time between 7:30am and 11pm. Smoking Is not permitted in the bedrooms or throughout the hotel. Smoking is permitted in the gardens.

Reception also has details of many attractions and activities. Maps and Tide Tables are available, but please note that the local currents can be dangerous and great care should be taken when walking on the beach.
