The 18th of May brings to Norfolk the ‘Lions International Golf Tournament’ at Heacham Manor Golf Course. Entry is £180.00 per team and the price includes 18 holes of golf, competitions, and two-course lunch. Teams of four are required.

The Heacham Manor Golf Course is at the Heacham Manor Hotel. Heacham Manor is a three-star hotel in a converted 16th century country house. It has a restaurant and golf course, and is in the coastal village of Heacham.

Bircham Windmill Craft Fair

Born to Dazzle Fashion Show

After the show, the audience is invited to browse and buy from the large selection of ladies’ clothes in Artichoke’s mobile shop. A delicious afternoon tea will also be served.

Fiction Festival

This weekend from Friday sees the 28th Fiction Festival take place.
The Festival’s guiding principle – established by founders Tony Ellis and the late poet George MacBeth – is to present some of the best contemporary writers in a congenial and informal setting, allowing the general public to see writers of international repute (alongside exciting new writers) from all age ranges and from locations across the world. It’s a great opportunity to meet the authors, hear them reading, talk to them and buy their books.

If you’ve got a love of reading or an interest in the writer’s craft, March will be a very good time to be living in King’s Lynn!

Lambing Season is Upon Us

At Snettisham Park Farm from the beginning of March you can visit the lambing barn and see lambs being born, ewes tending their young, and help your kids bottle feed an orphan lamb. Children can also see other farmyard animals, such as goats, pigs, sheep and chickens, and have fun either riding the toy tractors or in the adventure playground for 7 to 14-year-olds. As winter turns to spring a visit to the farm can make for a wonderful family day out!

Queen to celebrate Diamond Jubilee in Norfolk

In June this year, a royal garden party, a photographic exhibition and fireworks are set to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in Norfolk. The Queen will be hosting a garden party at Sandringham House, and catering students, some from Lynn’s College of West Anglia, will have the chance to showcase their culinary skills to the Royal family and 4000 guests, providing refreshments. There will also be entertainment, provided courtesy of the Hunstanton Town Band, Taverham Brass Band and Norfolk Youth Orchestra Symphonic Wind Band.
All across the country, many Britons are planning to bring out the union jack bunting once more, and celebrate the jubilee weekend with street parties during the bank holiday weekend.
