Literary line-up announced
Briarfields has announced the line-up for its literary year of Bookfests, with three major authors set to appear at the Titchwell hotel during 2016.
With each speaker set to share an insight into their career as a writer, plus extracts from their latest or upcoming books, Bookfest guests also get the opportunity to quiz each of the authors before having copies of their titles signed at the event.
Kicking off the Bookfest season is author Clare Mackintosh whose second novel, I See You, will be published in August. Her first book, I Let You Go, was a Sunday Times best-seller and featured on Richard & Judy’s Book Club and ITV’s Loose Women. Mackintosh, a former police officer who was inspired to write by one of the cases she investigated, will speak at 3pm on Sunday 17 April.
The second Bookfest, which takes place on Saturday 25 June, is with best-selling author Freya North, whose latest novel, The Turning Point, is set in Norfolk. Charting the long distance romance between a Canadian musician and British children’s author, the book focuses on the importance of seizing happiness and trusting that life will work its way right.
Then on Sunday 16 October, author Mark Billingham whose popular Tom Thorne detective series has been dramatised for TV, will speak at Briarfields. The latest addition to the series is Die of Shame which will be published in 2016.
